Through the Eyes
of a Child
This project began as a personal exploration, inspired by observing the subtle marks and traces left behind by children during and after play.
Initially focused on candidly documenting their interactions, the project naturally evolved into a socially engaged collaboration.
As the work progressed, the children became active participants, capturing their own images using cameras, offering their perspectives and contributing to the creative process.
Together, we reflected on the photographs, selecting the final images and discussing the meaning behind them. Their voices became an integral part of the project, with quotes and insights woven throughout the final book.

The resulting publication is handmade, combining both my imagery and theirs, and features a collaboratively designed protective cover. It presents a layered narrative, one that shifts between adult observation and the imaginative, unfiltered view of childhood.
At its core, this project seeks to honour the freedom and curiosity of childhood, reminding us of the often overlooked beauty in everyday moments and the importance of seeing the world through a child’s eyes.
